Obituary

Mr. Bubba Allen Manley, age 58, of Marion, Arkansas, formerly of Forrest City, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Methodist, Germantown, TN. Born July 15, 1957, he was the son of Vernon Manley and Robbie Sue Ryan Manley. He was a construction engineer with Chris Woods Construction Company of Germantown.

Bubba loved football and coaching. He received many awards and was featured in several college publications. He was also a defensive coordinator for the Forrest City Gators. He played for the Forrest City Colts, Mustangs, and NBFA team. In college he played football at Arkansas Tech in Russellville; AR. Mr. Manley studied Civil Engineering while on a football scholarship. He received an "Outstanding Member of the Special Teams" award while in college. He loved building mega-structures such as stadiums, nuclear power plants, hospitals and many other structures throughout the U.S.

Mr. Manley was devoted to fine scale modeling; he researched intensively his entire life on the historical accuracy that went into each piece or project. He specialized in WWII, Israeli wars, and other military conflicts.
He was also an avid hunter and a member of Clear Creek Hunting Club in S. Arkansas. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Forrest City.

He was preceded in death by his mother Robbie Sue Ryan Manley in 2006.

Survivors in addition to his father Vernon of Alymara, Arkansas, include his wife Kathy Houser Manley of the home, one son Jonathan Manley of Little Rock, one daughter Halie Hunt (& husband Jeremy) of Jonesboro; two brothers Craig Manley (& wife Bridgette) of Jonesboro and Tony Stephens (& wife Dorinda) of El Dorado, Arkansas; one sister Tammy Stephens of El Dorado, Arkansas and one grandson Cooper Hunt.

Services are scheduled for Friday, February 12, 2016 at 3:00PM at Morgan Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service beginning at 2:00PM. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery.
