Mr. Charles Lee Lawson, age 81, of Palestine, AR, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Born May 31, 1935, he was the son of Odis "Rass" Lawson and Mary Kelso Lawson. He retired from Sanyo Manufacturing after working many years in Receiving. He was also a Union Trustee, a Vice President and a Union Liaison for the IUE Local 1106 Chapter. He was a Deacon with Old Fashion Baptist Church.

Mr. Lawson leaves his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Iva B. Lawson; one son, Kevin Lawson of Palestine, AR; one daughter Donna (& husband Marcus) Golden of Drasco, AR; four brothers, Billy (& wife Dorothy) Lawson of Colt, Odie (& wife Dian) of Newcastle, Phil (& wife Thelma) of Forrest City, and Carl Lawson of Colt; one sister Linda (& husband Robert) Jones of Forrest City; six grandchildren: Meredith (& husband Chris) Ward, Hannah (& husband Cody) Jackson, Jacob Lawson, Michael Haggard, Mandy Butkovich, and Bobby Golden; ten great grandchildren including Jaden and Paetyn; and one great-great grandchild.

Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by three sisters: Willine Peterson, Jewel French, and Betty Sue Mauppins.

Funeral services for Mr. Lawson are scheduled for Sunday, October 23,2016 at 2:00pm at Morgan Chapel with Bro. Bob McGraw officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery in Palestine, AR. Visitation will be held Saturday evening, October 22, 2016 from 6-8pm at Morgan Chapel.
