Mr. Charlie F. Sanders, age 92, died at Crossridge Hospital in Wynne, February 15, 2018, after a short illness. Born May 15, 1925, he was the son of Roy Sanders and Flora Williams Sanders. He worked in construction and was a member of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, served under General McArthur and was a part of the Okinawa Battle.
He was preceded in death by his wife Clara Juanita Sanders in 2006.
Survivors include two sons: Jimmy Sanders and his wife Joyce of West Memphis and Terry Sanders also of West Memphis; two daughters Charlene Oswalt and husband Glen of Forrest City and Ms. Brenda "Lynn" Kendrick of Louisville, Kentucky; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Sanders are scheduled for 2:00 Monday afternoon, February 19, 2018, at Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00PM Monday afternoon at Morgan Chapel prior to the graveside service. Mr. Ralph Pipkins will officiate the services.
