Dorothy Ann Lodge, born Dorothy Ann Crouch, passed away tragically and unexpectedly at her home in Palestine, Arkansas, on October 24, 2026. She was 74. Born on March 14, 1952, in Forrest City, Arkansas, to Howard and Estelle Ashcraft Crouch, Dorothy was a Baptist and will be remembered for her love of family, her warm spirit, and how she treasured time with those she loved most.
Dorothy’s life was rooted in hard work, steady commitment, and devotion to her family. She grew up on the Grahm Farm in Forrest City. While living in the Palestine area and married to J.C. Hill, she worked at General Industries, Handy Foods, and the local truck stop. She and J.C. Hill raised two children together during their marriage.
After Dorothy and J.C. divorced, she moved to Florida and worked at Disney World. There, she met her precious Charles Lodge Jr., and the two shared 14 wonderful years together before his passing in 2013. Through every season of her life, Dorothy carried a deep love for her family, and she especially loved traveling to visit them. Through her work and the many relationships formed along the way, she touched the lives of those around her with her presence and perseverance.
Family was central to Dorothy’s life, and she leaves behind a loving circle who will carry her memory forward. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Steven Hill, and his wife, Christine, of Paragould, Arkansas; her daughter, Sherry Halbert, of Palestine, Arkansas; and stepchildren, Charles and his wife, Danielle Lodge III, of Pennsylvania, and Debbie Alonzo of Florida. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Jessie and wife Crystal, Jay and wife Lex, Jase, Christopher and wife Kristen, Avery and Clay; her great-grandchildren, Riggs and Dallas Ann; 7 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is further survived by her brother, James Crouch of Florida; her sister, Sheila Crouch of Alabama; a bonus sister, Diane of Florida; and her goddaughter and niece, Jessica of Florida. Dorothy’s family was a great source of pride and joy to her, and may their memories of Dorothy bring comfort in the days ahead and remain a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Estelle Ashcraft Crouch; her husband, Charles Lodge; her former husband, J.C. Hill; her sister, Brenda Burns; and her brother, Jerry Crouch.
Dorothy’s life was rooted in family, faith, and the place she called home for many of her years. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the strength she showed throughout her life, and the happiness she found in being with her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her and loved her.
