Mr. Gordon D. Pierce, age 78, of Forrest City passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Mr. Pierce was born January 14, 1935 in Couch, Missouri the son of Cleveland and Dessie Pierce.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retired from the United States Postal Service and a member of the Assembly of God.

Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Christine, of the home; five sons, Bruce Pierce(Sharon) of Forrest City, Douglas Sims(Patty) of Los Angeles, California, Paul Sims(Terri) of Bountiful, Utah, Robert Sims of Mountain View, California, and Christopher Sims(Denise) of Campbell, California; three daughters, Joyce Cox of Missouri, DeLynn Brown of Marion, and Mickie Hess of Marion; one sister, Pauline Simmons(Gilbert) of West Plains, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; Joel Cox(Tisha), Jason Brown(Heather), Lacey Skates(Dusty), Brian Pierce(April), Joshua Pierce(Haley), Spencer Sims, Michelle Schlick(John), Brett Sims, Heather Sims, Dianna Sims, Corban Sims(Erin), Joshua Sims(Jessica), Eli Sims, Zachariah Sims(Heather), Coulter Sims(Paige), and Shad Sims; and many, many great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 11 A.M. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 20, 2013 at 12 P.M. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home with Bro. Chelch Reagan officiating, assisted by Bro. Gary Gore.

Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City.
