Mrs. JoAnn McCoy Jones (Sharp), age 86 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at The Springs of Broadway in West Memphis, Arkansas. She was born on October 7, 1935, in Flint Michigan to Jesse Lee McCoy Sr. and Dorothy Dix Bryan McCoy. Mrs. Jones was of the Pentecostal faith and was part of White Motor Company as a family employee for 25 years.
Mrs. JoAnn loved her animals! She loved spending time outdoors fishing. She was most famous for her chicken and dumplings and her chocolate pie. She loved going to auction and collecting ceramic magnolia knickknacks. Christmas was her favorite time of the year decorating and just enjoying family time. She absolutely loved Wal-Mart. Some would even say she was the "Wal-Mart Queen". Above all, Mrs. JoAnn loved her family and would always choose spending time with them over anything.
Mrs. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and husband Lester W. Jones, her son Lester Wesley Jones Jr. and her sister Deloris Gail Bokker. She is survived by her two children Brenda Wicker and her husband Tommy of West Memphis, Arkansas and Jody Jones of Forrest City, Arkansas; her three siblings Bryan McCoy and his wife Marla of Fort Worth, Texas; Jesse Lee McCoy Jr. and his wife Eva of Forrest City, Arkansas, and Billy K. McCoy of Forrest City, Arkansas.
She is also survived by her five grandchildren Tonya Brasfield of West Memphis, Arkansas, Brandi Koons of West Memphis, Arkansas, Jeremy Gore of West Memphis, Arkansas, Skyler Haycraft Sides of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Courtney Watson of Olive Branch, Mississippi: and by a host of great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. JoAnn Jones Sharp will be Monday October 3, 2022, at Oak Hill Church of God at 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to service with Bro. Mitch Huffaker officiating and Kendall Pettus will be assisting. Burial will follow at Salem Methodist Cemetery in Moro. Arkansas.
