John L. Kirk passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, May 20, 2022.

He was born Oct. 25, 1960, in Forrest City, the son of Leon Ellsworth Kidd and Rosa Douglas Kidd. John was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Forrest City. He had many interests including movies, Army weapons and building classic models. He also enjoyed researching the history of Forrest City and was an animal lover. He was a graduate of the Forrest City High School Class of 1979.

John was preceded in death by both of his parents, as well as his grandparents, Sidney V. Douglas and Lola M. Clark Douglas.  He is survived by one sister, Brenda Kidd Cooper Sage (Ken) of Osceola; one nephew, Gary N. Cooper of Osceola and a great-nephew, Gary N. Cooper Jr., of Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the Humane Society in Forrest City in memory of John. Morgan Funeral Home of Forrest City is handling the arrangements. No services are planned at this time.
