Mrs. Shirley Thurmond, age 77, of Forrest City, passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at Baptist Medical Center, Springhill in North Little Rock after a short illness.
She was born Aug. 8, 1940 to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jordan in Moro. She worked at Sanyo and also retired from the Forrest City School District's nutrition department.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck Thurmond, and one son.
Survivors include her son, Doug, and his wife Lisa Thurmond, of Quitman; one sister, Dorothy Franks, of Forrest City; and one grandson, Michael, of Green Forest.
Memorial services for Mrs. Thurmond will be Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at Morgan Chapel, with Bro. Billy Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
