Mrs. Verniece Varner Smith, age 93, of Forrest City passed away at her home early Wednesday morning, March 26, 2014.

Mrs. Smith was born October 17, 1920 in Casa, Arkansas, the daughter of Sylvester Varner and Henrietta Barnett Varner.

She was a housewife and a member of the Madison Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Smith in 1992.

Mrs. Smith is survived by one son, Derriel Smith of Widener; two daughters, Eloise Thomas and husband Phil of Forrest City and Dorothy Kyle and husband Ken of Wynne; one brother, Orvil Varner of Pine Tree; six grandchildren, Vivian Blackwell, Kenny Kyle, Patricia O'Brien, Debbie Ball, Brandi Henderson, and Patti Keeler; nine great-grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Brittany, Kandas, Astosia, Monica, Randale, Aaron, and Paxton; and six great-great-grandchildren, Jessica, Kellie, Royce, Trinity, Angel, and Aaliyah

Visitation with family will be held Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 6 P. M. until 8 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2014 at 10 A.M. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Colvin officiating.

Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery in Palestine.
